If there were no limits, I'd still stay where am I now
Found this and thought it'd be nice to share something rather positive for once.
Peace.

Reason Number 3 Religion sucks - Sam Harris says so.
Awesome short video of 2010 TED's Sam Harris briefly explaining why Religion makes people be less effective for their planet and fellow human beings.
You were almost a Jill sandwich!
This has probably been the biggest piece of news to me this year. Yes - even more than Healh Care Reform or that CNN study that discovered that the male brain is more sexually active than a woman's (yeah, go figure.) Kingdom Hearts 3 has been announced yesterday with the guide to the Birth By Sleep game of the series.
Kingdom Hearts made my childhood and has forever been my favorite series of all time (topping my other favorite series, smash bros. mario, and Final Fantasy) and this is huge! Its been 9 years since the first game and roughly 6 since number 2!

Like pointed out before, the Health Care Reform didn't end when the bill passed. The fun is just starting. Republicans have already stated they are going to everything in their power to block this bill from taking effect and that could be a terrible thing.
Just a few moments after the bill passed, Democrats who supported the bill are now being threatened - this includes "accidents" and vandalism. This shows how narrow minded people are about the grants they are receiving through this new consent from the Government.

Journalism largely consists of saying "Lord Jones is Dead" to people who never knew that Lord Jones was alive.
Its sooooo dead on its scary... and to think I took Journalism instead of watching this guy. Four in years of education in 2 minutes.
You think this letter on my head stands for France?
Chris Evans is officially the new Captain America!
I'm actually very excited (though I was 50/50 with Mike Voight) and its really cool that he landed the role, he deserved it! He'll be joining Chris Hemsworth, Edward Norton, Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Downey Jr. in The Avengers movie and The First Avenger: Captain America, as well as 9-movie contract deal with marvel enterprises.
Good job!
The bill pretty much says if you're over 75 we're gonna kill you. With baseball bats.

And so this chapter has come to an end.... or has it?
The "Senate" bill, which dates back to december of last year, or even a little over a year ago if you trace its roots, has passed in the democratic controlled congress. Needless to say, no Republicans voted in favor (we all know they'd suffer the most from it - less income) and the biggest fear actually came from the demo-party itself.

Apparently the Vatican is cool with child molesters - kind of.
A priest was finally suspended for his crimes, after receiving therapy and what not.
Reason #2 religion sucks, do they ever think of the people they hurt?

Looks like they have some policies to work on.

It is striking the effort the Tea Party has been putting on to express their point of view. I'm sorry to say that it comes off completely ridiculous. I do understand that there is an association with terms like Pro-choice and Pro-labor to the party, but a lot of the time I figure they don't really know what they are talking about it, and end up making a fool of themselves.
Fairly libertarian, there is almost a sense of pro-anarchy coming off from protesters, especially when they carry slogans like "Keep Your Laws Off My Body" or "Obama's movement is anti-white", and it makes me laugh while being depressed by the stupidity of people.
Y'know what I do when I have the weight of the world on my shoulders? I shrug.

We've reached a "taking superheroes seriously" age in cinema. With the last couple of X-Men movies, the Dark Knight, Iron Man, Watchmen and The Incredible Hulk, superhero movies are finally given more depth and are targeted to a much wider audience, being usually moody and very intelligent.
I'm a superhero movie fan myself, probably closing off my top 3 favorite movie genres - the other two being drama and documentary - and I can geek out really bad at times over upcoming movies (like Iron Man 2!). On that note, I'd like to admit that one of my favorite superheroes is Captain America.

Once you kill a cow, you gotta make a burger
The video for Lady Gaga's Telephone single has come out and goddamn, its weird, but its actually really good! The part that surprised me the most was the Quentin Tarantino/ Kill Bill homage that was paid in the video, which included an appearance of the infamous Pussy Wagon. It even got Tarantino's seal of approval!
I know that she seems over the top at times, but it was time that someone had the courage to put their liberal views out there and were willing to take shit for it from conservatives.
She is like the new Madonna.
Check the video out after the jump.

So, I guess I'm going to start piling up reasons (through news articles) of why religion sucks (yea, its offensive, I know), its just too much to let it go unscathed.
Reason #1 - They want more babies.
A Roman Catholic High School decided to build a condom machine, and the Vatican is not too happy with it. Let's be quite frank, this machine is not going to promote more sex, because you know they were going to do it anyways - it promotes safe sex.
Since the world population is really small and we're in the need of another baby boom. The common sense isn't really developed in a lot of people - Mr. nice shoes Pope. Let's not even touch the HIV issue.
The article can be read here, as reported by the Associated Press.
I love Wikipedia. Any site that's got a longer entry on "truthiness" than on Lutherans, has its priorities straight.
So I attended today a debate hosted by Mount Royal University for communication students that dealt with internet and the new social media technologies like Twitter and Facebook. Though it was fairly mild and lot less heated than I thought it would be, it was still very interesting. Of course, it was a fairly small audience and the two debaters seemed to have a level of familiarity with each other, so it was very calm and in a way much less intriguing.
The debate itself wasn't extremely informative, rather it stated what a lot of people know about social mediums in a much more formal and intelligent form, it was done in a way that both contenders certainly seemed to have given some overlapping points without completely being able to expand on it (which was unfortunate).

Is THIS FUCKING DISTURBING OR WHAT! A man was sentenced 25 life sentences for raping his daughters and getting them pregnant 18 times. Apparently, the women had been asked in over 20 occasions about the paternity and nature of their pregnancies and at all times refused due to being afraid of domestic abuse.
If we see you smoking we will assume you are on fire and take appropriate action.
Dr. Daniel Seidman wrote an article on President Obama and his smoking issue (which, for whatever reason has been getting much more attention than actually needed - I mean, several Presidents have smoked in the past and there was no big deal there), and even though I'm sure it was well-intentioned, all I have to say is stop!
How about pressuring the President to stop delaying the health care reform or focus on the Iraq war so he can meet the deadline in August, instead of extending it? Smoking is not good, but it's not something that has priority over other issues. Let the man be, cigarettes aren't hallucigens or anything of the like that are hindering his performance or decision-making process.

The United States President Obama and Russian President Medvedev met to talk about a new series of Geneva treaty and to pretty much ensure the Russians the States are not going to blast them.
Cold War legacy? I don't think Russia will be happy with that at all. A the meeting I can only guess the awkwardness that it was between both the American and Russian Presidents. Though its fair to say that in our world's current situation having a good military is a viable measure, it also brings the fact that every time we build some new technology, our "frienemies" will be very irritated and frightened at the same time.
Was this meeting truly for political purposes? I doubt so. The United States is currently updating their military arms and strategies while trying to conveying everyone else to not feel threatened at all. Besides, let's be honest Medvedev is really Putin's bitch at this point, this was probably one of the most unneeded meetings over the past few months.
Al Jazeera has a video on the topic, that can be checked out after the jump.
Bisexuality immediately doubles your chances for a date on Saturday night
Last december, in D.C., a bill was passed allowing gay partners to get married in an equal, constitutional way. This is really a huge step forward as the only others states that recognize a homosexual union Connecticut, Iowa, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont.
I'm not a supporter of marriage in the slightest (for any sexual orientation), but I'm a supporter of freedom and equal rights for everyone.

Genuinely deserved or publicity stunt? Last night at the Oscars. Kathryn Bigelow took home the award for best director for a feature film (that being "The Hurt Locker"), pretty much curb stopping James Cameron (which, to be quite honest, was brilliant). Bigelow was only the fourth woman director to be ever been in that category, only the second american woman, and the very first woman to actually win it. Lee Daniels (Precious), would also have been the first African-American director to take an Oscar home had he won. Which raises a really interesting question.
Fightin' in a basement offers a lot of difficulties. Number one being, you're fightin' in a basement!
I love me some Oscars, and its one of my favorite nights of the year (yes - even better than the holidays), but this year the Academy Awards SUCKED. Last year so amazing, they had a cool opening act, a fantastic host, the pacing was great, the awards were beautifully presented by past winners and it was an entertaining night to remember. This year Neil Patrick Harris was surprisingly average, Baldwin and Martin were barely there (with very dry jokes), the awards were given in the most random and fucked up order I've ever seen and IT SUCKED!
I officially declare that this was probably the worst (and most predictable) Academy Awards in the last 10 years.
My post with the Academy predictions and my choices was screwy - so I decided to compile a list of my top 10 movies of the past year.Oh yea - spoiler alert - Avatar didn't make the list..... so suck it.

Nicotine patches are great. Stick one over each eye and you can't find your cigarettes!
Jesus Christ! Let the man smoke!
President Obama is probably one of the most popular and influential man of our current century, and at the same time the most hated and wrongly accused of stupid shit. Being frank, I put on a lot of faith on him and I'd be lying if I said he was doing a good job at being a world leader, but it doesn't change the fact that he still is human! Of all things to be bringing it up against him, people say that smoking is their bone to pick?

Amazingly enough, American President Barack Obama's first year will be remembered by two things: No we can't and Health care. The year long debate on health care continues to come back every time they seem to be reaching a deal out of it. The point being, it's going to be a really long time before we see an end to this episodic disaster that we call the "health care reform debate."
Why? Simply put, The United States have reached a stagnant point. The Democrats and Republicans haven't been opposing each other in such a heated argument since slavery or what rights homosexuals have

The Church of Hot Addiction
So, with the whole technology frenzy and all that other bullshit that was going on in the world, I decided that I was falling behind times with everyone else if I didn't start my own blog. In my honest opinion (or at least at first) creating a blog would be meaningless unless having a constant growing, well-intentioned audience. That alone (save other reasons like time commitment and constraining outside factors) put me off from the start to opening up to blogs.
